A GRAND OPENING FOR THIS YEAR’S JAGARANI SANGHA CRICKET

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 9th Feb, 2015: In a grand opening Siliguri Jagarani Sangha organized the 16th Year All Bengal Day-Night Sub Junior Knock-out Cricket Tournament 2014 here in the Suryanagar Municipal Corporation Grounds at Siliguri. According to the officials of Jagarani Sangha, the tournament is gaining popularity year by year. This year a total of 9 teams are participating in the tournament including Arun Lal Bournvita Cricket Academy, Kolkata, Cricket Academy of Bihar, Patna and other teams from North Bengal. The inauguration of the cricket tournament was done by the North Bengal Development Department, GOWB Mr. Gautam Deb, Dr. Rudranath Bhattacharya, MLA, GOWB, former SMC Councilor Mr. Krishna Ch Paul and other office bearers from Siliguri Jagarani Sangha. Mr. Gautam Deb unfurled the tournament flag and greeted the players of the participating team of the inaugural match. Today the inaugural match was played by Baghajatin Cricket Coaching Centre from Siliguri and Jagarani Sangha Cricket Coaching Centre from Siliguri. JSCCC was no match from Baghajatin CCC won by 167 runs. The entire innings of JSCCC collapsed in 12.3 overs.
The highest scorer in the match was Shibajt Saha from Baghajatin CCC. The highest wicket takers were Suman Paul and Avradeep Sarkar from Jagarani CCC and Baghajatin CCC respectively.
With this win Baghajatin CCC reaches the quarter finals of the tournament, which begins from tomorrow. Tomorrow’s match is between Udayan Cricket Academy from Alipurduar and Atharokhai Sarojini Sangha Cricket Coaching Centre from Shivmandir, Siliguri. The match is scheduled to begin from 4:00 pm in the same ground.
